I did the right thing last night and watched an AFI movie - Platoon. I would easily call this the ultimate war movie (note to AA that she should never watch it because it's super bloody).
Here's a quick update on the list:
30 Before 30 - planning for sabbatical
T-2 months until I go on sabbatical (officially Aug. 7-Sept. 6). I’m hoping to get quite a few of these items knocked out during that time so I went back to review the list and see where I am. I'm not feeling so good about the things in bold getting done in the next six months:
3. Go to Coachella or Austin City Limits
6. Meet and/or listen to Dave Barry read.
8. Visit the Sarah Winchester mansion and Alcatraz – found out I'm going to San Jose for work in November so I'll be able to knock these out at that time.
9. Ride in a hot air balloon – SCHEDULED for Aug. 18!
11. Rent a houseboat – SCHEDULED for Aug. 30-Sept. 3!
13. Play $100 per hand blackjack
14. Write for a Midwest travel magazine (freelance counts).
15. Watch every movie on the AFI Top 100 movies list.
18. Take a cruise around the Greek isles.
21. Eat The Slinger.
22. Host a dinner party.
28. Take a beginning conversational Spanish class.
29. Take a wine class.
30. Go to a game during March Madness.
